Shareholder Profit Dividend
Unlike traditional buying groups or corporate GPOs, TVC exists to benefit its shareholders- not investors. Each year, after covering operating costs and reserves, TVC distributes profits to shareholder members based on their participation and purchasing activity.
Your annual SPD is a reflection of your participation: when you meet shareholder requirements and engage with TVC and our vendor allies, you can qualify for up to two shares of TVC’s profit. It’s one of the clearest examples of the cooperative advantage in action— the more we grow together, the more each individual can succeed.
How It Works:
- Rebates and vendor incentives are collected throughout the year.
- After expenses, profits are shared back with eligible shareholders.
- SPD distributions occur annually, typically in May.
- Checks are mailed directly to qualifying shareholders.
There are no hidden fees, no dues, and no corporate ownership—just shared success through collective power.
Shareholder Profit Dividend
TVC’s profits are returned back to shareholders who helped us earn it each year, further supporting independent practices.

By joining TVC, you become part of a national network of peers who care as deeply about independence as you do. It’s not competition—it’s cooperation.
Community & Collaboration
Independent doesn’t mean alone.
Cooperative Ownership
You don’t just join TVC- you own a national cooperative created to protect and strengthen independently owned veterinary hospitals.
As a shareholder, you hold real influence and a stake in the organization’s direction. TVC isn’t controlled by a parent corporation or private equity group—it's owned entirely by independent practice leaders like you.
Being an owner means:
- A real voice in decisions and strategic initiatives
- Total transparency in how programs are developed
- Shared profit, not corporate profit—dividends return to you
- Collective bargaining power built around independence, not control
Joining TVC means investing in a future where independent practices—not corporations—shape the veterinary landscape.
Cooperative Ownership
You don’t just belong to TVC- you own TVC.
Autonomy
You own your hospital. TVC helps you keep it that way.
At TVC, autonomy is more than a value- it’s a cooperative principle. In a market where large corporate groups dictate protocols, pricing strategies, formulary restrictions, productivity standards, and even medical decisions, TVC stands as a safeguard for true independence.
As a cooperative, we exist to support your freedom to:
- Practice medicine based on your expertise—not corporate requirements
- Build your hospital culture, pricing structure, and client experience
- Make decisions that serve your patients and your community
Our cooperative model ensures that no one- no boardroom, no investor, no parent company- overrides your clinical judgment or business choices. TVC uplifts independent practices without interfering in how you operate.
Autonomy
You own your clinic, manage your business, and practice medicine your way.
Shared Success
The cooperative model is built on the idea that working together creates outcomes none of us could achieve alone. Every member who actively engages—attending webinars, joining Think Tanks, shifting spend to TVC vendor partners—strengthens the whole group.
This collective momentum powers:
- Better pricing and promotions for all member-owners
- Increased vendor support and exclusive programs
- A stronger Shared Profit Dividend (SPD)
- More resources, education, and tools available to every clinic
Your success becomes part of the cooperative’s success—and in return, you benefit from the strength, volume, and engagement of thousands of other independently owned hospitals. No one clinic carries the weight; we lift each other.
Shared Success
At TVC, every member’s win fuels the whole. Together, we grow, learn, and lead with purpose.
Advocacy for Independents
Independent hospitals today face unprecedented challenges: aggressive corporate acquisition, rising costs, shrinking margins, and decreasing leverage with suppliers. Standing alone makes it difficult to compete. Standing together changes the equation.
TVC advocates on your behalf by:
- Negotiating fair pricing and programs tailored to independent clinics
- Highlighting the unique value of independently owned practices
- Building alliances that prioritize autonomy and patient care
- Keeping decision-making in the hands of veterinarians, not investors
Joining TVC strengthens the collective voice of independent practices across the country, ensuring your clinic remains viable, competitive, and thriving for years to come. We’re here to be your voice, and to level the playing field for independently owned veterinary practices.

“I joined TVC a year ago and hoped I’d save some money. I did not expect the rebate check that arrived last week. I actually called TVC to make sure this was for real! This year I am going to use TVC even more as I now have proof that the savings are significant and this really works! Thanks TVC!”
