Lilly/Elanco Response to Tropical Storm Harvey
In the wake of the storm, that has had a widespread impact on millions in Texas Gulf, Lilly and Elanco are putting structures in place to ensure that residents, pets and our employees are cared for. Some of the ongoing assistance includes:
- The Lilly Foundation is donating $250,000 to the American Red Cross for storm-related relief efforts.
- Lilly is donating lifesaving medicines to the region, including more than ten thousand vials of insulin to date.
- Vouchers for most Lilly medicines are being sent to area pharmacies to ensure those in need have access.
- Elanco is helping rescue animals and those in shelters by donating products to treat an estimated 25,000 dogs and cats including:
o Duramune Max 5/4L
o Fel-O-Guard Plus 3
o Rabvac 3
o Bronchi-Shield ORAL
o Comfortis
o Cheristin
o Interceptor FT
Our goal with these donations is that animals separated from their families and in shelters will not have to worry about contracting and spreading disease, and safety animals deployed to help in the rescue efforts will receive necessary treatments.

- Petplan
- Donating $30,000 through three animal welfare groups we have partnerships with. Each of these groups has relief and recovery teams on the ground in TX and LA and we felt supporting those on-the-ground efforts would have the greatest impact on the largest number of pets and people affected by Harvey. Here are the details on what we are doing and how we are encouraging our policyholders to support Harvey relief efforts: http://www.gopetplan.com/blogpost/hurricane-harvey-pet-relief
